Brenda started as a Trainer in 1991, (during her office administration career), successfully developing and delivering HR training to both employees and management of a social service organization.

After moving to a global non-profit organization, Brenda shifted to a career as a full-time Facilitator. She attained her Life Skills Coach and Employment Counselor designations through the University of the Fraser Valley in BC, while practicing in both capacities professionally (group facilitation with one-to-one) since 1996. Her program design and development, coordination and management, as well as curriculum writing and delivery have all met with criteria necessary for federally and provincially funded Employment and Life Skill programs.

In addition to her social service industry contracts, her experience has included post-secondary schools, corporations, a national union, one-to-one coaching, and public workshops.

What Never Goes In

Some information just doesn’t belong in resumes. Make the mistake of including it, and at best, your resume loses a little power, while at worst, you fail to land the interview.

Early Background

Does not belong. I see resumes that tell about early childhood and circumstances of upbringing. The most generous excuse I can come up with is that the subject’s mother prepared the resume.
